Introducing Cambodia

Centuries of heritage, unbelievable natural beauty, and friendly locals make this welcoming destination a premier stop for all travel enthusiasts.

When is the best time to visit?
There’s no bad time of year to visit Cambodia, but the main tourist season happens when temperatures are coolest from November through February. To avoid some of the crowds, visit towards the end of the country’s dry season, which extends all the way into May.

Where to go in Cambodia?
For an iconic Cambodian experience, tour the temples of the ancient city of Angkor. Additionally, there are many undiscovered off-the-beaten-path gems, like the untouched island beaches of Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem, the up and coming bustling city of Phnom Penh, and the 216 stone faces carved at Angkor Thom.

How many days do I need?
Budget at least 6 days in Cambodia to explore the temples and also get to know the vibrant community.

How Many Days to Spend in Cambodia

Cambodia is a small country with a wealth of cultural attractions and landscapes, from glorious beaches to thick jungle-clad mountains and lush rivers. However, it's best not to pack too much into your visit because the infrastructure makes getting around quite slow. If you opt for a slow-travel experience that favors quality over quantity, it doesn't matter whether you have five days or two weeks in Cambodia, as you'll certainly have a rich and rewarding stay.

Over 14 days, you'll explore Angkor's temples, boat among Tonlé Sap Lake's floating villages, cycle the countryside, meet landmine-sniffing rats, and enjoy glamping in Cardamom Mountains National Park. Plus, there's time to relax by the beaches of Kep before rounding out your adventure in Phnom Penh.

Top it off with four days kicking back by sunning and snorkeling on the beaches of Koh Rong.

Dear Julie,
Thank you for your kind words and to yourself, and Patrick, for travelling with us in Cambodia.
You are entirely correct that the most important aspect is the tour guides. However, good the planning, if the guides do not follow then the experience is lessened. However, we have a great pool of regular guides and try our best to match them with our guests interests. Hence, it's always pleasing to read nice comments. I will thank them the next time they visit our office(s).

Hi Nimi & Graham,
Thanks a lot for your kind words and comments. It was lovely to have you in Siem Reap, exploring the temples and lake in an adventurous way during a very hot time!
I will pass on the appreciation to the hotel and the two guides as well.
I hope Kimkim can assist in planning your next trip, and if you have any friends or relatives planning to come to Cambodia please ask them to get in touch with myself.
It was also very nice to meet you on the penultimate day in Siem Reap. I hope the massages went well after!
Thanks again and best wishes from a still hot Siem Reap!
Steve.

We are a family of four - 2 adults and 2 children (16 & 11 yrs old). It seemed daunting to plan our trip to Cambodia as I had to ascertain a hotel in the city centre, local transport, tickets to shows and temple entries and most importantly language and food options. But after I found Kimkim and Steve, our tour planner, the holiday came together so beautifully and without hassles. Steve gave us a customised itinerary to suit our interest of having an active holiday closer to nature and soaking in the culture and history of Cambodia. Mr Arn, our Cambodian tour guide and child survivor of the infamous Khmer Rouge regime, shared personal experiences and stories which gave us a chance to be engaged and immersed in the Cambodian life.
Some of our most memorable experiences were the cycling trip around the temples, the trek on the Kabal Spean mountain, the APOPOS land mining rats and Phare circus. Each of these had been curated by Steve after taking inputs from me.
All in all, this was an experience we will never forget as we bonded as a family while soaking in the Cambodian way of life.
